We provide quick, efficient “well woman” exams including breast and pelvic exams as indicated. We are able to make clinical decisions as to whether a pelvic exam is necessary based on screenings that are due at the time of the appointment – many screenings now can be done by the patient in our office via urine or swab testing! Our goal is to minimize patient discomfort and inconvenience!
Current recommendations are for Pap smear screenings (for malignant and pre-malignant conditions of the cervix) once every THREE years. We have the capability to search LabCorp records for previous Pap results at other providers if you are unsure about when last Pap was done.
Sexually transmitted disease (STD) screening is easily done by either swab or urine testing. These tests are “patient obtained” in our office, very quick, private and easy to do. Further blood screening for STDs can be arranged with our office to be drawn at any local LabCorp PSC at your convenience, and we can track and share results as well as manage any issues that arise from these tests.
We are happy to provide office management of many gynecology issues, including:
• Vaginal discharge
• Disorders of menstrual periods / abnormal bleeding
• Pelvic pain, including painful intercourse
• Hormonal issues
• Infertility (limited to basic / initial workup)
Please feel free to contact us with any questions about these or any other issues, to determine if we are able to help you manage them.
We can provide and manage a wide array of contraception options. Methods available through our office include:
• Birth control pills
• Depo Provera shot
• Patches
• NuvaRing
• Nexplanon (arm implant)
• IUDs (both hormonal and non-hormonal options)
We are able to provide new start contraception, or manage issues / side effects that may come up with a method that you are already using. Our goal is to make sure you understand the birth control method that you are using and support you along the way with simple, no nonsense answers to your questions and concerns!
A new pregnancy can be very exciting, and it can also be a time of concern, worry and uncertainty. While we no longer do full prenatal care in our office, we are happy to do initial pregnancy diagnosis and confirmation appointments. We offer ultrasound at these appointments so you can see your new baby! We can help by determining the due date, as well as arranging for initial lab work, including genetic screening and gender determining blood tests as early as 10 weeks! Additionally, we will help to determine where you should seek to continue prenatal care, with the ability to refer to local high risk prenatal providers should this be appropriate.
Most prenatal offices won’t even schedule new pregnancy appointments until 2 or even 3 months into the pregnancy… we are happy to see you as soon as possible!
